Volunteers helped make a food distribution a success at Eastlake Senior Center. (Submitted photo)

Over 25 volunteers distributed 10,000 pounds of food at the Eastlake Senior Center in partnership with Willow Praise Church and the Cleveland Food Bank on Valentine’s Day, according to a release.

Over 175 local families received boxes of produce and vegetables at the distribution. Considering each family has two or three family members, nearly 400 people were assisted with food, the release stated.

This is a monthly distribution open to anyone in need. Each food box is valued at $30 to $45 but when someone is struggling with their finances, the food box makes a huge difference.

The monthly distribution is held every second Wednesday of each month at the Eastlake Senior Center from 11 a.m. to noon. The distribution is a partnership between Willow Praise Church, The Cleveland Food Bank, and Eastlake Senior Center, 600 E. 349th St.

Pastor Larry Bogenrief leads the distribution. Lake County Treasurer Michael Zuren and Eastlake Councilwomen Angela Schmidt volunteer by registering individuals and families.
