Israeli President Isaac Herzog “expressed his deep sorrow and sincere apologies” Tuesday for the death on Monday of seven aid workers for World Central Kitchen, in strikes that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said “unintentionally hit innocent people.” The food aid nonprofit said it was immediately pausing its operations in the region. The victims included a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, an Australian citizen, a Polish citizen, a Palestinian and three British citizens, WCK said.
